It is a very fun bike to ride: rotary valves, six speeds and a dry clutch all made this a unique bike back in the sixties.
My next project is a 1968 Yamaha YL1E which will also be a total
frame off restoration.

It's a shame that Bridgestone wasn't able to compete with
the other Japanese makers.
They had quite a few innovations, and their bikes were actually as good as, if not better than their contemporaries.
At least we have a few fans like Mike to keep some of these great examples alive! |
